Overview: Balsam Brands is looking for a talented, fun individual to join our growing team. This individual must be detail-oriented, enjoy meeting new people, able to think outside the box, and be a good judge of character.
Description: The HR Assistant’s principal function is to manage the full-cycle recruiting and hiring process for Balsam, including but not limited to: writing job descriptions, building a candidate pool, screening resumes, conducting interviews and corresponding with candidates throughout the hiring process.
Responsibilities will include:

Implementing and executing hiring strategy

Generating a candidate pool for each open position by:

Posting job descriptions on appropriate job boards
-
Attending career fairs and networking events
-
Managing other creative online recruiting processes (i.e. social media)

Providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for all prospective candidates
-
Ensuring that all applicants are kept up to date on their status throughout the hiring process
-
Managing candidate expectations re: hiring timeline, position qualifications, etc.

Screening resumes and identifying qualified candidates for a phone screen
-
Organizing the interview process:

Scheduling interviews with qualified candidates
-
Writing interview questions
-
Conducting phone screens and other interviews as needed
-
Evaluating candidates, deciding who to interview further
-
Making travel arrangements for candidates when necessary
-
Ensuring that candidates are interviewed in a timely manner
-
Facilitating interview and hiring discussion with interviewers and hiring managers.

Managing the Applicant Tracking System

Conducting reference checks on candidates
-
Establishing and maintaining relationships with partners at nationwide colleges and universities, staffing agencies, labor departments, and recruiting agencies, as needed

Required Experiences and Skills
-
Bachelors degree
-
Minimum 2-5 years work experience in recruiting and/or human resources
-
Experience hiring for a variety of levels, from entry level to executive level
-
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
-
Experience with applicant tracking systems, major job boards and college/university systems
-
Experience with recruiting and hiring for a start-up company is a plus
-
Well organized; able to track multiple candidates for multiple positions simultaneously

Strong desire to interact with others both in-person and over the phone
-
Strong relationship building skills

Ability to sell Balsam Brands to potential candidates

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and recruiting landscape

Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills

Effective leadership, negotiation and influencing skills

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft products
